Arrest made in Lexington double-murder

Rosario Diaz-Barraza is charged with tampering with physical evidence in a double murder in September in Lexington.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - An arrest was made in a Lexington double-murder.

According to his arrest citation, Rosario Diaz-Barraza is charged with tampering with physical evidence in the September murders.

On September 14, 2017 Lexington police found two bodies in a car on Blue Sky Parkway near Athens-Boonesboro Road.

A neighboring business says a woman came to the business asking for help finding her husband. She believed he was somewhere possible dead in the area.

The bodies were identified as Jose Olascoaga and Marco Ortiz.

Investigators say their cell phones showed them going to the area three days before they were found.

They also say surveillance video shows Diaz-Barraza leaving the crime scene with multiple phones.

Diaz-Barraza was arraigned in court on Thursday on a $1,000,000 cash bond. He will be back in court on January 19.
