Big Blue Madness kicks off new season of Kentucky basketball Friday
LEXINGTON, Ky. - UK fans will pack Rupp Arena for the annual Big Blue Madness Friday.
The event is highly anticipated. Many fans camped out for days in order to get their hands on tickets.
Officials say with 295 tents, more than 1,000 fans participated all leading up to the big event on Oct. 13.
UK Athletics has some last minute tips for fans who are planning on going to see the team in action for the first time this season.
Officials say you should not post pictures of your tickets online, especially the barcode. Similarly, if you bought your tickets online, make sure you check the website to verify you purchased your ticket from an authorized seller.
Also new this year, you may notice a special dog around Rupp. K-9 "Tilly" is trained to sniff out explosives.
In June, Mayor Jim Gray said, "having Tilly at events here in Rupp Arena and at other events with large crowds, will allow us to provide an extra level of security."
You can watch our "Countdown to Madness" starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday on the CW Lexington.
