Chris Bailey's Forecast | Tracking the flood and ice threat tonight
We have a major storm system moving into the region Tuesday night, bringing heavy rain, ice and some snow.
The precipitation begins from southwest to northeast later this evening. The ice threat is greatest across western and northern parts of the state, including the Lexington metro. This is where a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through Wednesday.
These areas may pick up a general .10 to .50" of ice.
Farther south and east, a Flood Watch is in effect. Heavy rain in these areas may add up to greater than 2", leading to a flash flood threat.
The precipitation ends from west to east on Wednesday, with better weather in store for Thursday and Friday.
Another system moves in this weekend, with mainly rain.
