Cremated remains found in Lexington storage unit, Coroner in need of help to find family

The cremated remains of a man were found in a storage unit after rent went unpaid.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Fayette County Coroner is in need of the public's assistance in finding relatives or friends of Frank Solis.

The cremated remains of Solis were found in a storage unit after rent went unpaid. The unit was sold and the remains were found as part of the contents.

Solis was 83 years old and was born on June 5, 1929, in Mercedes, Texas. He died on Aug. 2, 2012, in Lexington.

His last known address was in the Trout Court area of Lexington. Solis was also in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1951.

"I actually had a couple of leads and I've tried those over the past couple of weeks and I've come up with nothing," Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn said.
