Harrodsburg officers pull man from burning car
HARRODSBURG, Ky. - Two men with the Harrodsburg Police Department acted quickly to save a driver's life following a Monday morning crash.
The crash happened around 2:15 Monday on US-127 between Harrodsburg and Salvisa.
The investigation was handled by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's Deputy Scott Elder said when officers arrived on the scene, the car was on fire and the driver was trapped inside.
Deputy Elder said two officers, Officer T.J. Wren and Patrolman Andrew Lay, were able to cut the driver's seat belt and pull him from the car moments before the car exploded.
The driver, the only person in the car, was flown to a hospital in Louisville with life-threatening injuries, Elder said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
