Jim Caldwell's Forecast | Chill will ease off this week
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - After watching flakes fly AGAIN on Monday morning, the chilly air will hold on for one more day!
Temperatures will likely run 20-25 degrees below normal for this part of the year. It means you will see highs around 40 degrees today. We should be well into the mid 60s right now and we just aren't getting there! The milder stuff will be back soon, we are just right behind a pretty potent cold front.
Sunshine will find its way back into the skies on Tuesday. This will allow for some warmer temperatures to invade! It doesn't look like we are going to see highs shoot above normal, but it gets us one day closer to that happening.
We'll finally see a return to normal and beyond on Wednesday. Most of us will see that thermometer climb up to 70 degrees. A big system moving across the country will help us get to that level. A warm front will pass over us on Wednesday morning and allow for some much milder air to invade. But where there is a warm front, a cold front isn't far away. It will roll across Kentucky late Wednesday evening and into Thursday. Expect some rain and a drop back to around 60 for highs.
