Juveniles hold Lexington taxi driver at gunpoint
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - Two juvenile girls are charged with kidnapping after police say they held a taxi driver at gunpoint early Sunday morning.
Police say the girls got into a Taxi One cab around 4 near New Circle Road and Tates Creek Road.
They say the girls asked to go to Danielle Lane. Police say the girls requested an additional stop. At that stop, officers say the taxi driver saw that one of the girls had a gun and told them he was unable to continue the ride.
At that point, officials say the girls told the driver they would kill him if he didn't continue the trip. Police say the taxi driver was able to call 911 without his passengers knowing.
Officers made a traffic stop on Fortune Drive near Danielle Lane and arrested the teens.
They were charged with kidnapping, receiving stolen property, minor in possession of firearm and drug charges.
