CANNON, Ky. (WDKY) - A Knox County man is behind bars after deputies say he stole nearly $15,000 in merchandise, and tried to sell some of it on Facebook.

Deputies say Jason Swearengin, 44, stole the merchandise on Valentine Branch Road in Cannon in early May.

He would later be arrested on unrelated charges, and investigators were able to tie him to the thefts because he was trying to sell the items on Facebook. Some of the items stolen included kitchen cabinets and a $6,500 riding lawnmower.

Swearengin was charged with burglary and criminal mischief. He remains in the Knox County Detention Center on a $47,500 cash bond.
