Lexington teacher on Jeopardy! advances to finals
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - A Lexington teacher is now a finalist in the Jeopardy! Teacher's Tournament.
Claire Bishop competed last week, when she finished as a runner-up. This week, she was able to compete in a wild-card spot.
Bishop teaches Latin at Tates Creek High School.
She is competing in the tournament to win $100,000.
"I was extremely nervous, there's a lot at stake," Bishop said. "I practiced a lot and I tried to keep all of my nerves on the inside as opposed to in my face and in my gestures and in my voice when I was responding to things. It was nerve-wracking, I don't know about fun but it was once in a lifetime experience."
Tuesday night's Final Jeopardy question was about languages, and she bet more than $15,000. She got the answer correct and is moving on.
