Man charged with murder after shooting in Lexington neighborhood
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Lexington Police say one person is dead after a shooting on Monday.
Police say they were called to Greenleaf Drive just before 5 p.m.
When they arrived, they say they found a man dead outside of a home with an apparent shotgun wound.
Police are not releasing the victim's name, but say he was 29 years old.
Fox 56 talked with a man who says the victim was his cousin.
"He's young and a little mischievous, but at that age, probably most of us were," said Leland Hollis, the victim's cousin. "I don't think it deserved him being killed."
Police arrested Curtis Flora, 65, and charged him with murder. He lives across the street from where the victim was found.
Police say Flora admitted he was the shooter and said he had an ongoing dispute with the victim. Family members say the victim often visited his girlfriend who lives across the street from Flora.
"These killings have got to stop," Hollis said. "They can't keep doing this. It's tearing families apart."
The coroner says an autopsy will be performed on Tuesday.
