Man jumps from moving vehicle to escape police

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Facebook page, around 8 p.m. officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by John P. Bush. Bush, who is from Versailles, has been under investigation for cocaine sales in Franklin County.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDKY)- Man escapes police by jumping from moving vehicle allowing it to crash.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Facebook page, around 8 p.m. officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by John P. Bush.

Bush, who is from Versailles, has been under investigation for cocaine sales in Franklin County.

Deputies say when they attempted to stop that vehicle on East Main Street, Bush sped up to nearly 100 mph.

At one point he side-swiped another car, then jumped from the vehicle, letting the car crash into a telephone pole then overturning in a yard.

Bush was able to get away on foot.

Police think he had help getting back to the Lexington area.

They found a stolen handgun and drug paraphernalia in the car.

Bush is wanted for fleeing or evading, reckless driving, wanton endangerment, felony possession of a handgun, and several other traffic-related crimes.

Anyone who has information that could lead to Bush's arrest are asked to call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
