Mom: 3-year-old without wheelchair after thief steals Jeep from driveway
LEXINGTON, Ky. - A three-year-old girl is without a wheelchair after her mother says someone stole her Jeep out of the driveway.
Felita Gamble lives on Sullivans Trace in Lexington. She said when she went to get into her vehicle Monday morning, it was gone.
However, the Jeep wasn't her greatest concern. Instead, she worried about what was inside of it: her daughter's wheelchair and car seats.
Gamble's daughter, Dreya, 3, was diagnosed with spina bifida as a baby. Doctors told her Dreya would never walk.
"She needs the wheelchair to get around," Gamble said. "Whoever it was, they were heartless. They were cold-hearted. They did not care. They had no sympathy. I pray ... I pray to God that whoever took it is found."
Gamble said she doesn't care if she gets her Jeep back. She just wants the wheelchair and car seats returned. The wheelchair itself costs $15,000.
"If you have a heart, just return the wheelchair and the car seats and I'll worry about everything else later," Gamble said.
There is a GoFundMe set up to help the family. To donate, https://www.gofundme.com/CAR-AMP-WHEEL-CHAIR-WAS-STOLEN
Gamble said she did report the incident to police.
