Motorcycle heist goes wrong for two Lexington would-be thieves

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A brazen motorcycle heist in broad daylight went wrong for two would-be thieves in Lexington on Wednesday afternoon.

One of the men crashed the motorcycle into a window around 2:20 p.m. at Central Kentucky Motorsports on New Circle Road while the other man waited in a truck.

The staff at the store caught the entire ordeal on surveillance video.

"The guy is disoriented and just looking around,” said Derek Halsey, a technician with Central Kentucky Motorsports. “Brad comes out and talks to him. And he's like, 'This guy tried to hit him. This guy in this truck tried to hit me.' We didn't know it was the accomplice. About that time he jumps in the truck of the accomplice, and they take off.”

Lexington Police are looking for the two men. If you can help police, test LEXPD and then your tip to CRIMES (274637).
