Newton's Attic STEM summer camps

Newton's Attic states its mission as stimulating interest in science and engineering through exciting, hands-on projects, classes, and summer camps.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - At Newton's Attic in Lexington play is the ultimate learning tool.

"If you stick them behind desks and make them read and write you will lose a lot of very bright kids who will not understand how exciting engineering can be," explains Dawn Cloyd, Director of Community Outreach at Newton's Attic.

Dawn and her husband Bill run Newton's Attic. Their mission is to stimulate interest in science and engineering through exciting, hands-on projects, classes, and summer camps.

Bill says the idea for Newton's Attic was born during his years as a teacher. "I couldn't do a lot of the things I wanted to do in the classroom so I left teaching and started Newton's Attic to provide teachers with resources to illustrate how science and math and engineering can be great fun if you learn how to use them properly."

Newton's Attic has more than 50 STEM related summer camps for boys and girls ages 6 -16.

Newton’s Attic will be holding a Summer Camp Open House on Wednesday, May 17th between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
