Police arrest man in 2015 Lexington fire
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - Deputies arrested a man three years after they say he paid someone to set fire to his home.
Mark King faces a charge of conspiracy to arson, his warrant indicates.
The fire happened at a home on Mason Headley Road on January 30, 2015. The home was listed for sale or rent at the time, King's arrest warrant read.
Neighbors reported a vehicle circling the block in the hour before they noticed the house on fire, the warrant indicated.
Investigators found the fire to be "incendiary," according to the warrant.
An informant told police King had hired him at his business, Affordable Detailing in Nicholasville. That informant was also hired to keep up the property following the fire, the warrant read.
That informant also learned Taylor Hardin had set the fire for $10,000, according to the arrest warrant.
King told Hardin he would pay as soon as an insurance company settled the claim on the house, the warrant read.
King additionally saw the informant at a gas station and pulled a gun on him, saying "I will kill you if you tell," according to his arrest warrant.
