Troopers: Man threatens to 'shoot everyone' at Harlan High School graduation
HARLAN, Ky. (WDKY) - Kentucky State Police say a South Carolina man is behind bars after he threatened to "shoot everyone" at the Harlan High School Graduation.
Troopers say the school's principal called investigators after a student showed the threatening text from a South Carolina man. The student knew the suspect for five years.
Detectives were able to determine the text came from Felix Melquinoes Martinez, 34, from Columbia, South Carolina. They issued a warrant for his arrest and forwarded it to law enforcement in the state.
Police arrested Martinez where he worked, and he is now awaiting extradition to Kentucky where he will face a terroristic threatening charge. He is also facing a gun-related charge in South Carolina.
