Two injured in overnight crash on I-75 in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - Two people are in the hospital after an early morning crash in I-75.

Police say it happened around 2:30 Sunday morning about a mile south of the Athens Boonesboro Road exit on I-75 South.

Police say a car rear ended another car on the interstate, causing one car to flip over and the other to cash into the rock wall on the side of the road.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police think that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

Both lanes of I-75 South were closed for about an hour as crews investigated the crash and cleaned up the scene.
