Alzheimer's Advocacy Day

Advocacy Day to Support Senior Services and Alzheimer's Awareness is being held at the Kentucky State Capitol Annex on Thursday March 15th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S. and the ONLY one in America without a way to prevent it, cure it or even slow its progression.

Over 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s and Kentucky is currently home to 70,000 of them.

In Kentucky, there are 271,000 family caregivers helping another adult loved one with Alzheimer’s or another dementia carry out daily activities (such as bathing or dressing, preparing meals, administering medications, driving to doctor visits, and paying bills.)

Anyone is asked to show up to the Capital and share their own experiences with Alzheimer's. For more information you can visit www.alz.org/kyin
