Bowling Green wins first state title in 100th edition of KHSAA Sweet 16
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Bowling Green beat Cooper 67-56 in the Sweet 16 finals Sunday at Rupp Arena to claim the school's first ever basketball state championship. Austin Peay signee Terry Taylor was named Sweet 16 MVP after averaging 20.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in the tourney for the Purples.
Bowling Green narrowly escaped Scott in the semifinals, needing a go-ahead basket with 21 seconds left from eighth-grader Zion Harmon to top the Eagles. Harmon, along with teammate De'Angelo Wilson were named to the all-tournament team.
