Andrea Walker became the co-anchor of The Fox 56 Morning Edition in August 2016. She also anchors and reports for our news partner, WKYT.
As a Jessamine County native, Andrea is thrilled to be living her dream of delivering news that matters in her hometown and state.
Andrea attended Western Kentucky University before transferring to and graduating from Eastern Kentucky University. She got her start in television as an Associate Producer and Editor at WLEX. From there she worked for a short time as a Morning Host and Producer at WNKY in Bowling Green, before moving to WBKO where she worked as an Anchor and Producer for the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts for two years.
While at WBKO, Andrea won the Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters’ first place award for “Best News Anchor” among division two stations in 2015 and 2016.
Growing up in “Wildcat Country” Andrea LOVES all things UK. In fact, she and her fiance have two white German Shepards they adopted from the Humane Society named Rupp (for Rupp Arena) & Callie (for John Calipari). They also have a spoiled rotten cat named Kiki.
When she’s not working, Andrea enjoys reading, bargain shopping, and binge watching her favorite shows on Netflix. Growing up in the country, Andrea developed a love for horses and trail rides as often as she can.
