BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) – Barbourville City Police Department in Barbourville Kentucky hopes to set an example for others to get vaccinated.
Last week the Barbourville City Police Department was one of the first in Kentucky to announce their entire staff is fully vaccinated.
Knox County has been one of the hardest hit areas in Kentucky for COVID-19 with more than 7,000 cases as of Oct. 12, 2021.
“With everyone getting their shots, getting vaccinated that helps us protect ourselves and protect people that we’re out here dealing with every day,” says Chief Winston Tye.
The police chief says he is proud of his staff for making the choice and encourages others to get vaccinated as well.
