Bluegrass Crime Stoppers to host annual golf scramble, silent auction fundraiser

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) – The 2021 Bluegrass Crime Stoppers Golf Scramble kicks off this Friday, May 21 at Kearney Hill Golf Links.

The golf scramble fundraiser is an annual event with proceeds benefiting Bluegrass Crime Stoppers, a 501(C)3 organization, and the CSIS Program which includes their rewards payment program. The program pays tipsters cash for information that leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment of a felony offender.

As of early May, Crime Stoppers tips have led to 35 arrests with charges including 82 felonies, 47 misdemeanors, 84 cases cleared, $19,206 in recovered cash, and 20 recovered firearms with a total tipsters payout of $12,050.

In addition to the tournament, Bluegrass Crime Stoppers also has an online silent auction open now full of getaways, autographed memorabilia, jewelry, and more.
