LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – A sickening feeling for a Lexington man, who had his truck stolen, then returned. But, when he got it back, it was missing valuable items from inside.
Lexington Police said the man reported his 2006 black, Ford F-150 missing from Morrow Alley near Third Street and Broadway, the morning of April 5. The victim told detectives the truck was locked and contained a large number of work tools and personal items, like his AirPods.
Just a day later, an officer spotted the truck on Leestown Road near the Goodwill store. Detectives pulled the video from nearby businesses and saw a man getting out of the truck reported stolen on Morrow Alley and snooping around an unattended van.
“There were cameras at Goodwill and Apollo Pizza,” said Detective Anthony Delimpo. “It shows a gentleman drive in and park, he gets out, walks around a bit, and sees this unoccupied van. It was a gentleman working at Apollo Pizza. I think if the guy would have been inside working, he probably would’ve stolen that van too.”
