LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – An after-hours party at a Lexington park ended in gunfire and two lives were lost.

This week, we’re kicking off the Crime Stoppers summer initiative where the organization is offering a substantial increase in rewards for unsolved 2022 homicides.

Detectives described the scene on LaSalle Avenue as a chaotic one. And, when their forensic unit finished their investigation, they’d picked up more than 100 bullet casings from multiple firearms. So when we talk about violent offenders wreaking havoc on our city, this case involves some of the most concerning.

That early morning in May, the shooting claimed the lives of 20-year Amaya Sandifer and 40-year-old James Bost, Junior. Lexington Police say it would’ve been hard to avoid the gunfire. “Every homicide is violent and disturbing, but this one in particular we know that right around 100 rounds were fired and could be a lot more,” said Det. Anthony Delimpo. “You’ve got houses. This is a neighborhood, with skateboards and basketball hoops. Rounds don’t just drop straight off. It’s really disturbing.”

Someone out there knows who did this and Crime Stoppers wants to help. The organization is more than doubling the normal reward and promises to pay out $2,500 to the tipster who comes forward with information that leads to an arrest.

“We’re looking for anything. Maybe the color of a vehicle, a name, or nickname. Clothing description. Any piece of information you can give, we’ll take it,” said Det. Delimpo.
