LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) – Officers in Georgetown are investigating after several shots were fired early Thursday morning.
Police said close to 40 rounds were fired on Avondale Avenue, near Georgetown College.
At least four cars and one house were struck by gunfire.
Officers were unaware of any injuries.
Everett Johnson says he’s lived on Avondale Avenue for 20 years and he’s never experienced what he did Thursday morning.
“Only thing I heard was a lot of shots going off. I mean, they was rattling them off real quick,” Johnson said. “I know at least 4-5 good minutes you know. About four minutes just rattling them off.”
This was the second time this week that police were called out to the area for shots fired, but we’re told they couldn’t find any shell casings following the first call.
Georgetown Police say the investigation is continuing but they’re still in the early stages.
Police ask anyone with information to call (502) 863-7826.
