WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WDKY) – A public defender from Whitley County is one of six remaining contestants on “Survivor: David vs. Goliath” ahead of the show’s season finale Wednesday night.

Nick Wilson has been one of the strongest players during the latest installment of the CBS reality show, as his alliances and strategic moves have helped him make the final six, even though it was possible he could have been the first person voted out if it wasn’t for an unexpected injury to one of his tribe members.

Casted as one of the “Davids,” Nick was able to develop relationships with both sides throughout the game, but he was at risk of being voted out on last week’s episode. Nick’s longtime ally Davie orchestrated an effort to blindside him before the Kentuckian revealed to Davie a bluff he was trying to make the other castaways believe.

A chaotic scene developed in the build to tribal council, as viewers, and some castaways, were unsure how the votes will fall. Nick would make a mistake during tribal council by using his immunity idol, even though the others were not voting him out. Despite the misstep, Nick is still believed to have a solid chance of winning the game because of his relationships and strategy.

The two-hour “Survivor: David vs. Goliath” finale airs 8 p.m. Wednesday on CBS (WKYT in Lexington). The live reunion show will air after the $1 million winner is named.
