LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) – A play with a Lexington native on the cast is up for 10 Tony Awards.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” received 10 nominations Tuesday, including Best Play. One of the cast members of the movie is Brooklyn Shuck, 13, who plays Harry Potter’s daughter Lily Luna Potter. Shuck was born in Lexington.

While Shuck was not individually nominated, three cast members received nominations, including Jamie Parker for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play. Parker plays the title character in the play.

The play premiered in London in 2016 before coming to Broadway. It is based on an original new Harry Potter story.

Shuck has also had roles in Les Misérables, Matilda The Musical and Annie.
