FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDKY) – Governor Andy Beshear is providing an update on COVID-19 cases.
Gov. Beshear reported 2,946 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the state total to 227,818 cases. The governor says the state is seeing a 8.53 percent positivity rate. Of Tuesday’s new cases, 340 are in kids 18 or younger.
The governor says today’s new cases are lower than last Tuesday’s total, and the Tuesday before that.
There were 15 reported COVID-19 related deaths on Tuesday. The state death total is now 2,239.
As of Tuesday, 1,788 people are hospitalized for COVID-19 related reasons, 438 are in the ICU, and 246 are on ventilators. At least 32,234 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus.
The governor reported two more deaths at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, bringing the total to 33.
