LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – At around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, KSP responded to a reported shooting on KY Highway 1481 in the Williamsburg community.

Two Williamsburg men were said to have been involved in a physical altercation that escalated to 41-year-old Charlie West getting a firearm and shooting Douglas Griffith, 59, according to KSP.

Griffith was taken to Baptist Medical Center in Corbin where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

West was arrested and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. His arrest records confirm he was charged with first-degree assault.
