ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Two people are dead after a residential-structure fire in Rowan County Tuesday.

Morehead Dispatch called Kentucky State Police in Morehead for assistance with a structure fire on KY 1274.

Two bodies were then discovered inside.

Morehead Fire Department as well as Farmers Volunteer Fire Department and Haldeman Fire Department reportedly responded to the scene.

According to state police, the fire was likely an accident, but investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.

The human remains are being sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for identification, according to state police.
