LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Underage restaurant servers can now bring customers alcohol per a new Kentucky law.

House Bill 252 allows servers 18 years and older to serve alcohol and work in alcohol distribution warehouses as long as they are accompanied by someone at least 21 years old.

The new law does not apply to bartenders, the age requirement for that type of position remains at 20 years old.

House Bill 252 officially went into effect on Thursday.
