CASEY COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — A man in Casey County has been arrested and charged with burglary and public intoxication, according to the Casey County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office received a call from a woman who said a man had come into her home without her knowing. According to the arrest report, Veola Luttrell was feeding her 7-month-old baby when Ricky Davis, 54, came through her side door.

“First thing I done was jumped up,” said Luttrell, “and truthfully I don’t know what I did. It felt like I had an extra arm because I grabbed the pistol, called 911 and I still had my 7-month-old in my arm and passed her back to my daughter.”

Luttrell told Davis to leave while she gave her baby to her other children, and grabbed her gun.

“He wouldn’t leave,” said Luttrell. “It didn’t matter how much I told him to leave. And truthfully, it was the scariest moment of my life.”

When deputies arrived, Davis was still standing at gunpoint in Luttrell’s home.

The arrest reports said Davis admitted to using meth that day but didn’t answer any more questions at the time.
