SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced the arrest of a man from Shelby County on federal child exploitation charges Monday.

Nathaniel Johnson, 28, has been charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.

The report lists four attempts to distribute pornographic material to a minor and four counts of using electronic communications to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.

He is also charged with two counts of child abandonment.

The Cyber Crimes Unit partnered with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrenceburg Police Department in a sting operation where Johnson was caught, according to Cameron.

Johnson is being held in the Shelby County Detention Center.

The detectives with the Cyber Crimes Unit target aggressive predators who solicit sex with underage boys and girls. They also focus on finding and prosecuting individuals involved in the photographing, sharing, viewing, and collecting of child pornography.
