PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – An eastern Kentucky school district is being sued over its mask mandate.

The parents of a Pike County student and another man filed the lawsuit in federal court, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

The district requires all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status, to mask up on buses and in school buildings when the county is in the COVID-19 red or orange zone.

The lawsuit claims the mandate caused injury to a student due to a drop in oxygen saturation of the blood in one hand and the increase of carbon dioxide in the other.
