FRANKFORT, Ky. (WDKY) – Governor Andy Beshear gave an update on COVID-19 in the commonwealth Tuesday afternoon.

The governor announced the state’s audit into COVID-related deaths ranging from March 20, 2020, to October 26, 2020 has been completed. He reported 260 audit deaths.

Because of the audit, Governor Beshear says there is only one new death to report Tuesday.

The governor is reporting 137 new coronavirus cases, with the positivity rate sitting at 2.5%.

He also announced Tuesday that senior care centers can reopen at full capacity. This will go into effect on June 11.

This is the same day the mask mandate will end in Kentucky.

Governor Beshear states anyone entering a senior center will be required to follow county guidelines.
