LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Governor Andy Beshear is scheduled to give what his office is calling his final regularly scheduled COVID-19 briefing on Friday.

June 11 is the same day Beshear said most pandemic-related restrictions in the Commonwealth would end.

The eased restrictions include returning to full capacity for all venues and events and lifting the mask mandate for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people in most settings. There are exceptions for jails, long-term care facilities, and a few other select categories.

Beshear has said the June 11 reopening date is being made possible because of an increase in the number of Kentuckians getting vaccinated.

Nearly 2.1 million Kentuckians have been vaccinated against the virus to date.

Beshear’s final COVID-19 briefing is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Friday.

FOX 56 will carry the news conference live on our Facebook page.
