Heaven Hill threatens to bring in new workers during strike

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) – Heaven Hill Distillery is threatening to hire new workers as a contract dispute continues.

More than 400 striking workers are represented by a union. It is now turning to the National Labor Relations Board to get the distillery back to the negotiating table.

The company said it has given them its last, best, and final offer, but workers said they want to keep bargaining.

“We are offering additional paid time off. We are also enhancing all of our life insurance, 401k match benefits, and sickness and accident insurance. So we are hopeful our employees are excited about our offer and will come back to work,” said Emma Hutchens, chief human resources officer at Heaven Hill.

Union leaders said they have complained to federal authorities that the company is not negotiating in good faith.
