LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Kentucky State Police are taking part in Operation Crash Awareness Reduction Effort (CARE).

Operation CARE runs from Saturday through March 20 and is part of a nationwide effort to increase safety on the roads.

Kentucky troopers and officers will be emphasizing all traffic enforcement violations including:

  • Speeding
  • Failure to wear a seat belt
  • Impaired and/or distracted driving
  • Commercial vehicle enforcement

Police are also emphasizing buzzed driving is drunk driving. Since St. Patrick’s Day festivities, including the festival, happening on March 19, officers are encouraging everyone out having a good time to plan on having a sober driver.
