OLIVE HILL, Ky. (FOX 56) – Around 4:30 p.m. on Jan 14., Kentucky State Police in Ashland was called regarding a reported shooting in Olive Hill.

Once on the scene, KSP reported Delmas Harris, 25, entered Carla Roberts’ home, pulled out a weapon, and began firing at Roberts and a child. Roberts was reportedly struck in the hand and shoulder while the child was struck in the leg.

Roberts and the child were able to leave the scene and hide until Harris left. Both victims were transported to Olive Hill Urgent Care to seek medical care.

Troopers were able to locate Harris and able to peacefully place him under arrest.

Harris remains incarcerated in the Carter County Detention Center where he was charged with first-degree assault.

The case remains under investigation.
