ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Officials with the Kentucky State Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash in Rockcastle County.

KSP was notified at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday about a single-vehicle accident on 1-75 northbound near the 72-mile marker.

Their initial investigation found a motorcycle operated by Matthew S. Sheridan, 32, of Somerset, and his passenger Faith A. Jenkins, 26, of Somerset was traveling north on Interstate I-75 when the vehicle’s tire blew out, causing him to lose control.

Jenkins and Sheridan were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Berea. Sheridan was then transferred to UK Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Jenkins, however, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by the Madison County Coroner’s Office.

KSP said neither of the individuals involved was wearing a helmet during the incident.
