LEE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – An eastern Kentucky school employee is no longer on staff after alleged inappropriate physical contact with a student in a letter sent home to parents this week.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) said they were contacted about the allegations on Tuesday, April 20.

According to Lee County Schools Superintendent Sarah Wasson, they were made aware of the alleged incident, and the staff member was no longer employed by the school.

Wasson could not comment further on the incident as it is still under investigation by KSP, but she said the district will not tolerate behavior that puts the physical or emotional well-being of students at risk.

FOX 56 has confirmed that 32-year-old Courtney Horn, a physical education teacher at Lee County Middle School, was booked into the Three Forks Regional Jail on charges of third-degree rape and sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse.

She was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
