Louisville Metro Police fatally shoot man following domestic disturbance

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Officials say Kentucky police responding to a domestic disturbance fatally shot a man early Tuesday who fired at officers.

Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman Beth Ruoff told news outlets officers were responding to an argument at an apartment and were informed that a male at the scene was armed.

Ruoff says the man fired at officers and at least one officer returned fire, striking and killing the man. No officers were injured.

Kentucky State Police are leading the investigation.

No further details were immediately released.
