MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – Magoffin County is cleaning up after a weekend of flash flooding.
Rushing waters damaged roads and caused culverts to overflow.
The garage of the county maintenance headquarters was partially flooded out. A few trees fell onto the building and nearby trucks.
“We got over there and got the trees off those vehicles and assessed the damage. They’re all drivable, but a couple of them got some severe damage,” said Matt Wireman, Magoffin County judge-executive.
The county judge-executive hopes the general assembly will send more funding to Magoffin County in the next legislative session.
