MURRAY, Ky. (FOX 56) – Some athletes with Murray State Athletics were hurt while traveling Wednesday.

According to a statement from Murray State Athletics, the softball team was involved in an accident while traveling to an NCAA tournament in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Three individuals were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Murray State said other staff members and players are unharmed.

Murray State came out victorious in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament last weekend and is scheduled to play Stanford in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

This will be the first appearance in the NCAA tournament for the Racers.
