LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – In Corbin, Kentucky State Police chased a shooter in a vehicle pursuit Tuesday night, Jan. 11.

The pursuit happened after 10 p.m. and started near the Cumberland Gap Parkway when Kentucky State Police responded to a traffic violation.

The male suspect attempted to evade Kentucky State Police and the vehicle pursuit began, ending in a shooting between parties somewhere off South Highway 1223.

According to KSP, the vehicle pursuit started near the Cumberland Gap Pkwy and ended near US Highway 1223.

FOX 56 spoke with Trooper Scottie Pennington, KSP Public Information Officer, and confirmed that no troopers or bystanders present at the shooting were injured.

The shooter was arrested and admitted to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Kentucky State Police said the investigation is active and will be releasing more information soon.
