Armed suspect shot by police outside Georgetown McDonald’s has died



GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WDKY) – A man has died after being shot by police in Georgetown.

Georgetown police said they got a call early Friday morning about a possibly armed man trying to get into cars on the Connector Road area.

When police arrived, they said they noticed the man was armed. Officers said he tried to carjack one car before trying to get a second one.

During that time, police fired at the suspect. He was taken to UK Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The coroner identified him as 31-year-old Deshund Tanner.

A video posted on social media appears to show police running toward McDonald’s. What sounds like several gunshots can also be heard in the video.
