FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Somerset man pleaded guilty to child pornography charges on Friday.

Detectives in the Cyber Crimes Unit were notified of an IP address in Pulaski County downloading child pornography in July 2021. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the physical address associated with the IP address and obtained a laptop and SD memory card.

Together, the devices held over 1,000 images of child pornography, according to the Cyber Crimes Unit.

Bryceton W. Prater, 23, pleaded guilty to five counts of possession or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor less than 12 years old; five counts of possession or viewing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor older than 12 years old but less than 18 years old; and one count of distribution of sexual performance by a minor.

Prater will remain in custody without bond, and his sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 3, 2022.
