Governor Andy Beshear announced 2,860 new COVID-19 cases in Kentucky on Sunday. The state total now stands at 276,826 cases. The state’s positivity rate is now 11.12%.

Governor Beshear said the high positivity rate is likely due to some labs and testing sites closed for the New Year’s holiday. Governor Beshear says he will go more in depth on the state’s positivity rate during Monday’s Coronavirus update.

The Governor also reported 25 new deaths Sunday. That brings the total COVID-19 related deaths in Kentucky to 2,723.
