LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The deceased individual in Tuesday night’s Russell Cave Plaza shooting has been identified by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office as 40-year-old male, Armond Lukes.

The coroner’s office indicates the cause of death as being a gunshot wound afflicted by another individual.

The Lexington Police Department is investigating the homicide and will release additional information when it becomes available.

Two individuals were shot overnight in Lexington.

The incident occurred at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Russell Cave Plaza.

FOX 56 was on the scene just after the incident and confirmed with officials that police located two males with gunshot wounds. One individual reportedly had life-threatening injuries, the other non-life-threatening.

The deputy coroner confirmed one individual, a 40-year-old male, died as a result of the incident. Their name will not be released until next of kin is properly notified.

While the scene was still active, police reported hearing more gunshots in the nearby Hollow Creek Road area, it is not confirmed if the two incidents are related.
