1 injured, thousands without power from high winds in Lincoln, Boyle counties


    STANFORD, Ky. (WDKY) - Thousands of customers in the northwest portion of Lincoln County, and around Danville and Junction City in Boyle County are reporting power outages.

    According to a Facebook post from Lincoln County Emergency Management, Kentucky Utilities is reporting over 1,400 customers are without electricity, while Inter County Energy is reporting over 1,700.

    Lincoln County EMA says power is expected to be restored by 4 p.m.

    Meanwhile, Boyle County Emergency Management says that around 2,100 KU customers around the county are without power, including Boyle County High School. Some traffic signals in Danville are without power as well.

    High winds are being cited as causing the outages.

    A tree fell on a woman in Danville at Jackson Park. That person was taken to the hospital.
